140bhp is safe for the 1.6 and 1.9 engine as a stage 1 map. No issues at all. depend of witch 2.0 tdi we speaking, but anyway 1.6 is on common rail (so we will speaking of 2.0 tdi after 2006) as well it's smaller than 2.0 so shafts etc wouldn't fit, maybe some external components like alternator, engine mount etc but nothing major.
