Turning off the back screen is not currently an option, but there is an option that might help out. You can set your screensaver for as little as 1 minute. Good afternoon, My GoPro 9 has a similar problem, i followed the manual factory reset (3 times) but the main problem remain. Right after the reset, everything looks perfect but once i turn off the gopro and let it rest for a couple of hours, the main screen remain black.

Hey, I went to bestbuy this morning, and got a new battery. My camera powered right up. It will still not charge when plugged in though, so I had to buy the $50 standalone charger kit, at least it came with another battery though. Try a different battery if you can get one, there's a chance it could work. Good luck.
